Add Barry’s cute little face to your strawberry! This tutorial includes the eyes and mouth only and is completely free.
The strawberry pattern is not included and must be purchased separately.

We will work in rounds to create the eyes, then create the mouth in one single row.

8ply/DK/Weight 3 yarn
4mm hook
Tapestry needle
Scissors

The eye has a diameter of 4".
The mouth is 2.25" x 1.5".
You can simply make these larger or smaller by altering your hook size or yarn depending on which size strawberry you make.

Barry's Eyes and Mouth
PART ONE - Eyes
Ch 2 to start each rnd; ch 2 counts as first dc.
Each rnd ends with a sl st into the top of ch 2.
1. Black - 12 dc in a MR.

2. Inc x 12.
[24]
3. Dc, inc x 12. FO.
[36]
4. Green - Tie onto any st.
Dc, inc, dc x 12. FO.
[48]
5.1. White - Attach yarn to the right st of any inc.
5.2 *Hdc x 3, inc* x 12. [60]
End with inv join and leave a long tail for sewing.
a. Thread yarn from back to front
b. Thread around 3 sts as many times as you wish.
c. Thread to the back, double knot and cut.
PART TWO - Mouth
Ch 15 to start.
b. Sc in next 2 chs.
c. (Hdc, dc) in next ch.
d. (Dc, tr) in next ch.
e. Tr in next 4 chs.
f. (Tr, dc) in next ch.
g. (Dc, hdc) in next ch.
h. Sc in next 2 chs.
i. Sl st into last ch.
j. Cut yarn and use tails for sewing.
Lay everything out and sew each applique on.
